If you were awakened early this morning by sirens, it was from several agencies responding to two different crashes involving multiple cars on the interstate.
Around 5:39 a.m., the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting that several vehicles had been involved a crash in the northbound lane of I-43 near Rowe Road (west of Howards Grove).
According to a release by the Sheriff’s Office, one person was ejected and was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital with possible life threatening injuries. Another person who was trapped inside a vehicle was removed with minor injuries and transported for neck and back pain to a local hospital. Two additional victims were also transported to local hospitals – one with minor injuries and the other for back and neck pain.
As a Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at that accident, a second crash happened in the southbound lane as a vehicle struck a pickup truck from behind causing the truck to leave the roadway and roll over, causing minor injuries.
