The winter of 2020-21 has now come and gone, and the Kohler boys and girls basketball teams managed to make it through their seasons through this COVID pandemic completing their full schedules.  Much like the fall season, the stands were scarce with people instead of having the usual packed gym on nights of exciting match-ups.  However, fans were able to take advantage of the school live streams that will inevitably be here for the long term as it was very popular.  Nonetheless, the season saw its ups and downs with many positive things for the school and community to be proud of.

Here are some of the highlights from the winter sports season:

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Improvement – that was the goal through the season.  The girls showed great improvement from the beginning of the season to the end.  Highlights of the season include beating Sheboygan Lutheran at home 41-38, beating Cedar Grove at home 47-26 (one month prior to that win they lost to CG-B by 16 points), and having an upset win in the WIAA regional quarterfinal vs Living Word Lutheran 56-42 (Junior Hailey Cole scored a season high 31 points in this game).  In the month of February they also took a very good St. Mary’s Springs team to overtime and lost to both Ozaukee and Menominee Indian in last second baskets.  Much improvement for a young team!
